Features and Construction

This scratching mat is built with specific features intended to appeal to both cats and their owners. Its construction focuses on material choice and design to fulfil its primary role as a scratching surface and furniture protector.

Material and Build

The mat is made from 100% natural sisal, a material highlighted for its strength against sharp claws and its non-toxic, chemical-free composition. This choice of material is central to the product's function, providing a textured surface suitable for scratching that is also safe for pets to use regularly without health concerns from treated substances.

Size and Practical Fit

The product has precise dimensions of 410 mm in width, 210 mm in height, and a 15 mm thickness, with a total weight of 360 grams. Its large area and curved, concave shape are noted as being designed to fit a cat's body curve, which may encourage use. The hanging style offers flexibility in placement, allowing it to be mounted vertically or used flat on the floor.

Uses and Placement

This scratching mat is intended for use with indoor cats, serving as a dedicated outlet for natural scratching behaviour. Its design considerations aim to make it an effective tool for home use.

Event or Professional Use

While primarily for home use, the durable natural sisal construction and easy-to-clean nature could make it suitable for environments like catteries or pet-friendly accommodation where protecting surfaces from cat scratches is a priority. The wall-mounting option helps save floor space in such settings.

Everyday Home Use

For daily use in the home, the mat serves to protect furniture, doors, and walls. The sleeping cat cartoon pattern is intended to attract the cat's attention. Owners can hang it in areas where the cat frequently scratches or place it on the floor in a favourite spot, integrating it as part of their home decor strategy.

Benefits and Buying Value

The value of this product lies in its practical application as a protective item and its specific material composition. It addresses a common concern for cat owners in a straightforward manner.

Reuse and Low Maintenance

Constructed from robust natural sisal, the mat is designed for repeated scratching over time. Its simple design suggests low maintenance; keeping it clean may involve basic vacuuming to remove loose sisal fibres. The non-toxic material adds to its suitability for long-term pet use.

Its defined size, hanging capability, and cartoon design differentiate it from basic scratching posts.
