180W Monocrystalline Solar Panel with 12V DC Output and Optional Controller

This monocrystalline solar panel is rated at 180W maximum power and provides a 12V 2.5A DC output plus a 5V 1.7A USB output. Its PET surface and monocrystalline silicon construction are stated, and the panel measures 420 x 280 mm while weighing 452 g. The IP65 rating indicates protection against dust and water jets, so the panel is suited to outdoor placement where it may encounter weather. An optional ABS controller is available, supporting automatic 12V, 24V, or 48V operation with 10-100A charging and output currents. The controller also includes a 5V 3A USB port and adjustable voltage settings for floating charge, discharge stop, and reconnection. This setup is intended for users who need a compact solar charging solution for camping, remote power, or battery maintenance.

Features and Construction

The panel uses monocrystalline silicon cells and a PET surface, as stated in the source information. The controller housing is made from ABS. These materials are common in portable solar products, and the stated dimensions and weights help assess handling and placement.

Material and Build

The solar panel is made from monocrystalline silicon with a PET surface. Monocrystalline silicon is a widely used solar cell material, and PET serves as the outer layer. The controller is housed in ABS plastic. The panel has an IP65 rating, which means it is protected against dust ingress and water jets. The controller casing is black and blue, while the panel is black and white. No further construction details are provided in the source text.

Size and Practical Fit

The panel measures 420 x 280 mm and weighs 452 g. The controller measures 133 x 70 x 31 mm and weighs 128 g. The package with controller weighs 648 g, and the package without controller weighs 530 g. The packing size is 440 x 295 x 40 mm. These dimensions make the panel suitable for portable use, and the controller is small enough to store alongside it. The source does not state a folded size or carry case dimensions beyond the packing size.

Uses and Placement

The panel's 12V DC output and USB port support charging small devices and 12V systems. The IP65 rating and operating temperature range of the controller from -35°C to 60°C indicate suitability for outdoor conditions within those limits.

Event or Professional Use

For outdoor events, remote work sites, or field research, the panel can provide power where mains electricity is not available. The 180W maximum rating and 12V 2.5A DC output are stated, and the USB port allows direct charging of compatible 5V devices. The controller's automatic 12V, 24V, or 48V detection and 10-100A current range support larger battery banks, but the source does not specify compatible battery types beyond voltage. The IP65 panel rating helps with dust and water exposure.

Everyday Home Use

At home, the panel can be used to maintain 12V batteries, charge phones, or power small USB devices during power cuts or in gardens and sheds. The 5V 1.7A USB output on the panel and the 5V 3A USB port on the controller are suitable for many small electronics. The panel's size and weight allow it to be moved easily. The controller's adjustable floating charge, discharge stop, and reconnection voltages can be set to match specific battery requirements, though the source does not provide detailed programming instructions.

Benefits and Buying Value

The panel offers a stated 180W maximum output in a compact size, with an optional controller that adds automatic voltage detection and adjustable settings. The IP65 rating and wide controller temperature range support outdoor use. The absence of moving parts and the use of PET and ABS materials suggest low maintenance, but no specific durability claims are made in the source.

Reuse and Low Maintenance

The panel has no moving parts, and the PET surface can be wiped clean with a soft, dry cloth. The controller requires no user-serviceable parts according to the source. The self-consumption of the controller is below 10mA, which is a low standby draw. The source does not state a lifespan or warranty period, so no long-term performance claims are made here.

Why Choose This Product

This product combines a 180W monocrystalline panel with an optional controller that handles 12V, 24V, or 48V systems automatically. The panel's 420 x 280 mm size and 452 g weight make it portable, while the IP65 rating supports outdoor use. The controller's 10-100A charging and output currents, 5V 3A USB port, and adjustable voltage settings provide flexibility for different battery setups. The source does not provide price or competitor comparisons, so the value lies in the stated specifications and the practicality of the included components.
