Dodge Journey JC Front Seat Guard Plate: Left or Right Side Protective Cover

This seat guard plate is a replacement accessory designed specifically for the front seats of certain Dodge Journey JC models. Its primary function is to act as a bumper protector or shield, covering areas susceptible to scuffs and wear. The product is supplied as a single, complete unit, ready for installation. Before ordering, you must confirm your vehicle's compatibility using the listed model codes and select the correct side (left or right) as the plate is side-specific. This accessory provides a practical solution for maintaining the seat's base area without requiring complex modifications or tools.

Features and Construction

This guard plate is defined by its specific application and dimensional fit. It is not a universal part but is manufactured to match the contours and mounting points of the original Dodge Journey JC front seat base.

Material and Build

The source text refers to the product as a 'guard plate' and 'bumper protector', indicating its role is to provide a protective barrier. The exact material composition is not detailed, but it is constructed as a single, solid piece intended to withstand typical interior wear. Its design suggests it is made to clip, adhere, or otherwise secure over the existing seat structure to shield it from damage.

Size and Practical Fit

The plate is described as 'over size' with precise measurements of 570 millimetres in length, 240 millimetres in width, and 70 millimetres in height. These dimensions indicate it covers a substantial area of the seat base. The 'over size' description may refer to its protective coverage extending over vulnerable edges or sections. Crucially, it is sold in two distinct formats: one for the driver's side (left) and one for the passenger's side (right), meaning you must purchase the correct version for your intended seat.

Uses and Placement

This product has a singular, clear purpose: to protect the lower front seats of a compatible vehicle. It is a functional accessory rather than a decorative item.

Event or Professional Use

For vehicles used in high-wear scenarios, such as commercial use, ride-sharing, or frequent passenger transport, this guard plate can help preserve the seat's upholstery and underlying structure. By acting as a sacrificial layer, it takes the brunt of scuffs from shoes, bags, and general ingress/egress, potentially reducing long-term maintenance costs and keeping the vehicle's interior presentable for professional settings.

Everyday Home Use

For personal and family vehicles, the guard plate serves to protect the investment in your car's interior. Daily use, especially with children or pets, can lead to scratches and dirt on seat bases. Installing this plate provides a dedicated protective surface that is easier to clean or replace than the original seat material, helping to maintain resale value and interior aesthetics over the years of ownership.

Benefits and Buying Value

The value of this product lies in its targeted protection and model-specific design, which aims to offer a more effective solution than universal, ill-fitting covers.

Reuse and Low Maintenance

As a rigid guard plate, it is designed for durability and can be wiped clean as needed, offering a low-maintenance protective solution. Its value is in preserving the original seat beneath it, which is far more costly and difficult to repair or replace. By shielding a high-wear zone, it directly addresses a common point of deterioration in vehicle interiors.

Why Choose This Product

You should choose this guard plate if you own a Dodge Journey JC with model codes 1UL32DX9AB or 1UL33DX9AA and are seeking a direct-fit protective accessory. Its main advantage is its stated compatibility and specific sizing, which should lead to a more secure and aesthetically integrated fit compared to generic protectors. The need to select left or right side ensures you get the part shaped correctly for your specific seat, making installation straightforward.
