Made from wood and knotted sisal rope, it provides a variety of textures for biting and manipulation, which can help occupy birds and reduce cage boredom. The toy measures 15 cm by 35 cm and weighs approximately 105 grams, making it a suitable accessory for parrot species. It arrives as one complete unit, finished in a natural wood colour as shown in the product images.

Features and Construction

This bird toy is built with specific materials and dimensions to serve as an interactive accessory for parrots. Its design centres on providing a physical activity that mimics natural behaviours.

Material and Build

The toy uses a combination of wood and sisal rope. The wood forms the main structural components, while the sisal rope is knotted to create areas for biting and shredding. This combination offers two distinct textures: the solid, biteable wood and the fibrous, shreddable sisal knots. The construction is designed to withstand parrot beak activity associated with play and exploration.

Size and Practical Fit

The overall dimensions of the toy are 15 cm by 35 cm, with a total weight of approximately 105 grams. This size is intended to be manageable for a parrot to interact with and is suitable for mounting inside a cage. The proportions allow the bird to grasp, bite, and manipulate the different sections of wood and knotted rope.

Uses and Placement

This accessory is intended for use as an enrichment item within a parrot's living environment. Its primary function is to provide mental and physical stimulation.

Event or Professional Use

For aviaries, breeders, or bird sanctuaries, this toy can serve as a standard enrichment item to promote natural behaviour across multiple birds. Its simple, activity-focused design makes it a practical choice for environments where toys may need to be replaced periodically due to wear. The natural materials are a common choice for such settings.

Everyday Home Use

For parrot owners, this toy offers a dedicated activity to help keep a pet bird occupied. The shredded paper concept and varied textures can engage a parrot's curiosity and provide an outlet for chewing instincts, which may help direct behaviour away from cage bars or other household items. It is a single unit designed for straightforward installation in a home cage.

Benefits and Buying Value

The value of this product lies in its focused design for parrot activity and its construction from specified, natural materials.

Reuse and Low Maintenance

The toy is supplied as a complete, ready-to-use unit. Its maintenance involves routine checks for wear, particularly on the sisal rope sections, and secure attachment within the cage. There are no complex assembly steps or specialised care requirements stated, aligning with a straightforward approach to bird enrichment.

Why Choose This Product

This toy is a specific choice for owners seeking a foraging-style activity accessory made from wood and sisal rope. Its defined size of 15 by 35 cm and its shredded paper design differentiate it from simpler perch toys or pure chewing blocks. It addresses the practical need for an interactive item that encourages natural parrot behaviours like shredding and beak exercise.
